What Merchantx Does

The Merchant-to-Merchant Exchange

An exchange where merchants trade with each other: surplus stock, fixtures, shelf space and services move between shops instead of going to waste.

📦

Surplus Stock Board

List overstock and discontinued lines at trade prices; what is dead weight in your stockroom sells through someone else's door.

🪑

Fixtures & Equipment

Shelving, racks, fridges, registers - shop fit-outs and closures feed a steady secondhand market between merchants.

🏬

Shelf Space Swaps

Offer a shelf or corner of your shop to a complementary merchant's goods, or place your products in theirs.

🔧

Service Trades

Swap capabilities shop to shop - your delivery van for their sign-making, your bookkeeping hours for their window display.

⚖️

Trade Terms Templates

Simple written terms for each exchange type - condition, payment or barter value, collection - so deals stay friendly.

📍

Nearby First

Listings sort by distance, because a pallet of stock or a bank of shelving is only a bargain if collecting it is practical.

How Merchantx Works

From signup to value in 3 steps

1

List What You Have

Post surplus stock, spare fixtures, open shelf space or a service you can trade, with photos, terms and your location.

2

Match Nearby

Browse what merchants around you are offering and asking; the exchange surfaces complementary matches first.

3

Trade on Clear Terms

Agree terms from a template, complete the exchange, and build the trade history that makes your next deal easier.

Frequently Asked

Who can trade on MerchantX?

Trading businesses only - shops, market traders, online sellers and food businesses. Listings are between merchants at trade terms, not consumer retail.

Is it only barter, or can I just sell?

Both. Most surplus stock and fixtures sell for cash at trade prices; space and service listings are often swaps. Each listing states its terms.

How do I avoid a bad trade?

Use the trade terms template, inspect before collecting - nearby-first sorting exists for that reason - and check the counterparty's completed-trade history on their profile.
